I need some help here. Where in Seattle can I find a good barbecue sandwich? I like both beef brisket and pulled pork. I tried Longhorn Barbecue because I happened to stroll past it while walking through Pioneer Square on my way to Elliott Bay Book Company. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the "hot" sauce. The pork was nicely cooked, very tender, and the sauce had good flavor, though not that much kick.
Like I said, Longhorn Barbecue is fine. But, I'd love to find a place that's outstanding. Any recommendations?
Try Peco's Pit BBQ in the SODO district. Their sandwiches are excellent and the hot sauce definitely has kick (too much for me) The baked beans are good too and really spicy. I think they're only open on the weekdays from 11am - 3pm though.

Thanks Traci... but since I work in Bellevue, that makes it a little difficult! However, since it's somewhat close to my apartment, I could go when I work from home. I'm thinking of taking a day of soon and hitting Salumi. Have you been? If not, we should meet up. Heard the lines get pretty long, so we'll have plenty of time to catch up! I think I saw you and Ray more when I lived in New York :)

Salumi is the best sandwich shop in seattle without a doubt. I miss the days of working acrss the street. My fav sandwich is the proscuitto, goat cheese and fig. Only available in the summer. Otherwise, the porchetta is a great gut bomb and the grilled lamb are solid bets.
My fav bbq in seattle is near Georgetown at Pig Iron BBQ. Not a good place for you re: lunch but stop by on the way home and pick up a pork sandwich, mac and cheese and some fried green tomatos. Or eat there as they have some texas beer on tap. tends to be a bit dead at night so maybe bring a few friends and then head up to 9lb hammer for some beers after wards.
Or better yet, wait until I get back and you and I can go :)
BTW - BBQ is meant for pork. As an alabamian, i don't believe in sandwiches made from anything else :)

I haven't been to Salumi but everyone raves about it so I think we should go - especially after Tim's post. I guess you're used to waiting in long lines for food since you were a Shake Shack regular!

Dave,
You need to head south towards the First Avenue Bridge - head to the Pig Iron...
